How We Give Back
Bait Dogs pledges 5% of our monthly profits to the Humane Society. Here's exactly how that works, what we've given so far, and where we honestly stand today.

Where we stand right now
We're a young company, and we want to be straight with you: we haven't had a profitable month yet. By the letter of our pledge, that means we haven't owed a dollar.
We gave anyway. Between direct donations and dog adoption fundraisers, we've contributed around $500 so far. As soon as we turn a profit, 5% of it goes to the Humane Society, every month.
How the pledge works
-
01
We close out the month
At the end of each month we calculate our net profit: what's left after product costs, shipping, fees, marketing, and operating expenses.
-
02
5% goes to the Humane Society
In any month with a net profit, 5% of that profit is donated to the Humane Society.
-
03
We give where we can, even before profit
Until we're profitable, we still donate directly and support dog adoption fundraisers whenever we can.
-
04
We keep this page updated
We update the numbers on this page as we give, so what we've done is always out in the open.
Why we're called Bait Dogs
In illegal dogfighting, "bait dogs" are the animals used and thrown away to train fighters. Our name is about them, not the people who hurt them. We stand against dogfighting and animal cruelty in every form.
We wear the name to honor the underdogs who never got a chance to fight back, and our giving goes to the people working to protect them.
Donation disclaimer
- We are a business, not a charity. Bait Dogs Apparel is a for-profit company. We are not a registered charity or 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Purchases from our store are not charitable donations and are not tax-deductible.
- Not affiliated. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Humane Society or any other animal welfare organization. Their names are used only to identify where our donations go.
- How "profit" is calculated. Our pledge is 5% of monthly net profit, as determined by our own books: revenue minus product costs, shipping, payment and platform fees, marketing, and operating expenses. In months without a net profit, the pledge amount is $0.
- Not per item. Donations are made from company profits, not from individual sales. No specific portion of any single purchase is guaranteed to be donated.
- Figures are approximate. Amounts on this page are our own unaudited estimates and include both direct donations and fundraiser contributions.
- Changes. We may update or end this policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
Straight answers
Does part of my purchase go to the Humane Society?
Not per item. Our pledge is 5% of the company's monthly net profit. Your purchase helps us reach profitable months, and every profitable month means a donation.
Have you actually donated anything?
Yes. We haven't had a profitable month yet, so under our pledge we haven't owed anything. We've still given around $500 through direct donations and dog adoption fundraisers.
Why would a brand call itself Bait Dogs?
Because the name is about the victims. Bait dogs are the animals hurt and thrown away in illegal dogfighting. We use the name to honor them and to stand against that cruelty, never to celebrate it. Read the full story.
Are you a charity or nonprofit?
No. We're a for-profit apparel company, and purchases aren't tax-deductible donations. We believe a business can give back, and we've built that into how we run.
Are you partnered with the Humane Society?
No. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by the Humane Society. We donate to them because we believe in their work.
How can I check what you've given?
Email us at info@baitdogsapparel.com and we'll walk you through what we've donated and the fundraisers we've supported.
